Why do the doctors suggest to eat icecream after removing the tonsils?

    I think it is simply because the coldness of the icecream numbs the discomfort

    It is easy to go down. It is pretty much liquid and it doesn't irritate. Plus it is cold which helps to soothe the throat. It doesn't numb it, it doesn't stay there long enough to do that, but the cold does feel better.

    that answer about ice cream numbs is compelety wrong because ice cream is soft just like pudding yogurts and jell-o i think u can eat soup im not sure yea like i was saying u cant eat nothing heavy like chicken chinese food or pizza nothing like that u can eat heavy after 3 weeks the most removeing hurts a little it hurt just like a throat infection im gonna warn you that u gonna bleed in ur mouth when your sleeping or you may throw up blood for not a lot of days you can't go outside because you might fall on the ground with noicing i knew all of this beause i wanted to remove the tonsils

    doctors suggest to eat ice cream because it soft like pudding yogurt or jell-o also u may drink juice but not pineapple juice or lemon juice because it got acid it can burn your throat also don't eat nothing heavy like chicken chinese food or pizza nothing like that until 3 weeks the most you start eating heavy i know this because i had my tonils removed and i was bleeding thought my mouth when i was sleeping bleeding is normal!!
    getting the tonils removed is so much better because you dont get sick as often
    ok!!! im am a 12 year old kid and i had my tonils removed and now i feel so great now so i dont have to worry about getting throat all the time
