I can see it, to a certain extent, but would include the year in the title of the category. Then again, when do we stop? Britain and America's Got Talent could be done that way, as could Big Brother, Survivor, The Amazing Race, etc. Who knows when all the contestants about whom all questions would be asked, what music/songs/etc. would be asked, etc.? Would the moderators (staff) be able to tell if someone is moving a question into the correct season, or would they just have to take the word of the user? ... and we could have people moving things all around in numerous seasons, because few are expert enough in them to place questions correctly. I don't think it would be a good idea - at least at this time. As I said, I understand where you're coming from, but there are a lot of logistics that need to be worked out before it's done.

Hi Smurphy, thanks for the question. One of the things we're trying to think about right now involves this kind of issue: categories that could easily be broken into more parts. Anything involving people (athletes, celebrities, music, art, etc) or that naturally encompasses more than just one thing (countries, states, cities; tv series with different seasons; etc). Basically we want the categories to be /useful/. If a certain category is broken into 6 subcats, but they're rarely used, maybe that's an indicator that those subcats are too specific and aren't actually helping anyone. On the other hand, there are a lot of categories that could really be broken down and that would help people find exactly what they're looking for. Our current working theory is that we are trying to cut down on subcategories except when it's really necessary/useful. I'd have to think about tv series, and I don't have a good answer right now. I hope more people join the discussion and help us figure it out :)
