  • Try not to worry too much, the 1.8 is a tough engine & it's unlikely to be anything terminal. I take it you've checked all the basics, plugs & HT leads? Check your oil filler cap for gunge, if there's any chances are it's the head gasket. Do you by any chance have the fault codes from the engine management system?
