  • no B.S. i havent been able to make a straight line without the help of a ruler in 40 years. my lines always look like its been beaten up or riddled with bullets..you gotta have a steady hand
  • I've heard that it's impossible because of the curvature of Earth. I would suppose that line of reasoning is technically true, but not practical. Or perhaps you mean that when you draw a line, it technically has depth because the pencil line you made technically has width and length (just very small), giving it two dimensions. So in regards to that, when you make a line with a pencil, you are merely making a two-dimensional represnetation of a one-dimensional idea. Or perhaps you mean that when no matter how powerful a microscope you get, you'll keep finding that your "straight line" is made up of irregular fragments of paper, ink or graphite residue, dust, etc. Whichever way you meant, I hope these were satisfactory.
