The UK's Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has issued a list of people who are barred from entering the UK for fostering extremism or hatred. The list includes U.S. talk show host Michael Savage. Is it reasonable to ban people for fostering hatred?

If I had my own country, I certainly wouldn't welcome the bigot idiot Savage. :o) Should it be illegal to publicly discuss such prejudice? (sigh) I guess not. lol

The real story is that the Home Secretary is trying to stop Islamic extremists and terrorists from entering the UK. But The Labour Party needs the votes of law abiding Muslims. So they published this list. The idea is to placate the Muslims. The list includes other nationalities and religions in the hope the news media will concentrate on more high profile figures. The strategy has worked. Most news stories concentrate on a shock jock or Gay haters. However, Labour is heading for electoral disaster because of the economy and a lame duck leader. Nothing can save them. Not even this list.

I can't work up any libertarian sympathy for Savage. He's constantly talking about who he thinks should be banned from entering the USA. Turnabout seems fair play.

Is this a fresh list or is she just adding names to the list that starts with Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, etc.?
