  • Bon Scott, i liked his voice more, but i like the songs that they had with Brian Johnson more
  • Brian Johnson. I prefer his voice and songs.
  • Bon Scott was a character, not a great singer but perfect for the kind of music AC/DC plays. I like earlier Brian Johnson (1980's), unique and immediately recognizable. Sadly, his voice is pretty much shot now.
  • bon scott... by far
  • Bon Scott he's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool to bad he had to die:(
  • Brian Johnson People overrate Bon, no disrespect to the guy, without him there would be no AC/DC, he was great, he had a hell of alot more charisma than Brian, I enjoy some of his songs. Brian Johnson though I believe is a better singer, although his voice is almost dead now, when he first went to AC/DC his stuff was gold.
  • Bon Scott is the man
  • There is no proper or right answer to this question. Bon was there when they began and all there tunes kicked A$$. Bon saw Brian Johnson perform in 1979 with the band Geordie and he loved Brian Johnsons voice. When Bon Died and the band decided to continue, it was only fitting to have Brian take his spot. They went on to make Back in Black, THE NUMBER 1 HEAVY METAL/HARD ROCK ALBUM OF ALLLLLL TIME-metallica/slayer/pantera/linkin park.....whatever. No real music has sold more copies of one single album ,..ever,by real I mean Hard Rock/Rock/PunkHeavy Metal...That in itself is remarkable. Michael Jacksons thriller is the only album that has sold better...
  • I like both. I am not a great fan of Brian's voice but he is a great frontman. Saw him on the Ballbreaker tour. Bon was just well... mad. Genius mad. His performance in the Let There Be Rock video is just hilariously good.
  • Why choose? Both are awesome! Both brought a unique voice and presence as the front man to one of the tightest rack bands of all time!
  • I like Brian, and Brian era AC/DC a lot, but Bon was the man. An under-rated lyricist, great voice, looked like a totally untrustworthy party animal (in a good way) and the fact he was Scottish is an added bonus for me.
  • Bon was the original so Brian Johnson could never compete with that, but that said Bon did a have depth and character, wrote excellent lyrics and gave the band a wild streak which was lacking after Back in black, Brian was a safer and more professional frontman, but his character was 1 dimensional and screaming vocal seemed cold after Bon and the band turned more mid tempo metal under him, but all due praise Brian has led AC/DC for over 28 years, lot longer than Bon.
  • I'd have to pick Bon Scott. I once met Brian Johnson backstage on his 38th birthday and it took me three tries to understand his thick Scottish brogue when he told me how old he was. He ended up giving me his party hat and I still have a snapshot of my daughter wearing that hat on her 1st birthday. Although Brian was very nice, his accent made him very difficult to understand. At least I could understand Bon when he spoke.
  • Bon Scott
  • I seem to be going against the grain here, but I'm a Brian Johnson man. Ever since he joined with the band, they've been unstoppable. BTW, the Black Ice show ROCKED!!
  • I love them both. Bon Scott is more...sexually loaded. I'm gonna go a little philosophical here. Throughout times a lot or most of the geniouses have been very sexual (read: masculine), Einstein was infamous for being a ladies man, for instance. Bon Scott has that same "feel" about him. Brian doesn't. Bon was a street man, Brian feels like more of a harbor worker wanting to party. Nothing wrong with that, Brian justs lacks the bad boy feel that gives that "real" feeling to AC/DCs music. This is why AC/DC, in my opinion, has declined almost in a linear fashion, after Bon's death - with Back in Black being great, and all the other albums gradually worse. All albums are at least decent, though. So: I miss Bon Scott - one of the last truly masculine frontment before falling into the feminism age, where all music is, at least to a degree, tainted by that feminine (nothing wrong with that) "I'm really a nice guy on the bottom"-feel, if any of you catch what I'm trying to say. Anyway, enough rambling. Bon was fantastic, Brian is good.
  • Bon Scott, without his voice & character there would be no AC/DC.He gave them drive and emotion, with his quirky, cheeky songs, that were filled with pathos of humour.I believe the humour and tongue and cheek lyrics were missing when he died...........in which i terribly missed. I didn't follow the band after his death, although i knew they were still good ,as i always thought that he epitomized the late 1970s era.
  • I Love Both Singers and appreciate the styles they both brought forth to us fans... but when down to a pick i guess i would have to say bon scott.. now im not downing brian i like his style like i say but just my personal
