    June 19, 1978. i remember i was 14 at the time, and i always look for any new comics in Sunday's newspaper.., the plain dealer and cut them out to save in my scrap book i had.

    I clipped the very first Garfield cartoon published in the Dayton Daily News in July of 1978. I was 12 years old!
