Being caught in a rip current.

The one I am currently in. Unemployed, broke and having to depend on others.

I fell off a 20 ft ledge, i broke both of my ankles. My friend left to get help, I was stuck laying on the ground for almost an hour, screaming for help to no avail.

Here is one that I can remember. At age 19, I was alone in a radio station during a severe thunderstorm. Tornado and flash flood warnings were going off every thirty seconds and tornadoes had already been sighted. Lightning hit the tower and knocked out the power and transmitter. People in three states needed to know the current weather conditions. No emergency lights. Pitch black. I had to find a flashlight and power up a 10,000 watt transmitter to get back on the air. I was able to get the weather bulletins out and the transmitter operational again within 12 minutes.

Without grim details: Alone at night in a very dangerous place with people looking for me (to kill me) and I had no way to get help that I knew about then. Luckily I got help that came to me, but it was a long 6-7 hours.
