I have in the past, and I would do it again. I think it degrades the taste of the dish, but by no means does that means it tastes bad. It's just that I like Mac'n'cheese plain.

I would, but I like to add stuff to all kinds of things. My wife get grumpy about it sometimes, & sometimes loves it.

Sure. Add some canned tuna and you'll have tuna noodle casserole.

Yes. I don't really like it that much, but it is my husbands favorite comfort food. Mac & cheese with tuna and peas.
