For the most part, yes.

Absolutely not ! Used car salespersons dress up in their best dress clothes to (hopefully) impart a sense of professionalism, knowledge and honesty (HAH !) to their prospective customers. That's just one example (although the reverse situation can be true) !

No. But it can be used to manipulate other people.

Not necessarily. Sometimes people are not fortunate enough to buy what they want. This is a lot like judging the book by its cover.
