  • Short answer: No. Car radios receive signals broadcasted on the frequencies of 535khz..1705khz (AM) and 88Mhz..108Mhz (FM) NOAA weather is broadcasted in the 162Mhz range; above the cars FM band. So, unless some one is rebroadcasting the weather info into a band that the car can receive, or the car receiver was designed to be able to also receive in the 162Mhz range, there is no easy way. (non-easy ways would involve down-mixers, etc.. So it CAN be done, but not practical)
  • Yes, in certain cars, typically German ones.
  • The correct answer is NO, you cannot tune a standard car radio to the weather frequency. However, as the worlds largest OEM Car Audio Manufacturer we make some models for European cars with a WB (weather band) button that accesses the weather station via a separate circuit in the tuner. So both answers are true.
