Possibly, the really imaginative ones are clever enough to completely avoid using pick up lines.

I have never done any picking up this far. Still I know how the thing works. I don't think any imagination is required here if the target is ready and willing to be picked up. All you need to do is to let your bulky wallet show.

lack of self confidence more like it. imagination has nothing to do with it. One time a guy told me I looked so good he could drink my bath water-WHUTEVER- He could have just said Hi you smell pretty and look clean!

I never liked the lines. But that probaby because im a woman and words dont work on me unless they have something to do with "Your place or mine?" They dont hear much past that. It's like that dog in the Beggin strips commercial that only hears BACON!

Yeah, those are the ones that use lines that you don't recognize as pick up lines. But, don't be fooled by those because they only learn them from experience.

Lines are just a way to open a conversation. It really doesn't matter what you say, as long as you say it right. I've learned that from experience. :)

I guess some people don't. I've found that I could sometimes establish a rapport with a woman by starting a conversation with her about something that was personally relevant to her. One time I was in a video store and I saw a woman wearing some slogan buttons that interested me. I asked her about the buttons, what video she was considering, her phone number, and eventually we dated.

I think pick up lines are for people who lack a naturally attractive personality. If you have to rehearse on opening statement, it is NOT genuine.

They are just so simple and insecure that they lack the self-reflection and understanding of how others work.

i found it is less about the line and mainly about confidence - looking into her eyes and not at her cleavage+5.

Some have been doing it for a while so sometimes they get ahead of themselves and forget the critical steps of flirting. They get to ahead and anxious to score that there line might be so off the wall it makes them look raunchy and a big turn off.
