  • We cut our eating out budget to $50 a month and get that at the first of the month in cash. When it is used up we don't eat out any more. We also are just going to the grocery store once every two weeks. Going whenever we ran out of something contributed to a lot of unnecessary purchases.
  • one day each week, i go do my shopping, i will go to 4 different local supermarkets, and see what specail offers they have, eg. buy1 get 1 free, or 50% off and so on, and basically that is how i shop. i know its annoyiing going to diff supermarkets, but i can save up to E30 a week on food and household shopping, i also go to the cash and carry once a month for washin g powder, dog food, toilet paper and cleaners and alcohol,( a good friend who runs a business lets me use the account fro c&c, it on a cash pay basis). again saving over €40, other than that, i try buy my petrol for my car where it is the cheapest, try share taxi fares wit friends on nights out, and when eating out, go to restaurants with offers such as early bird menues, or value buffets.
