Not only would be, but have been. One of my dearest friends gave me a place to stay on her couch for six weeks when I lost a job where I lived on the farm and drove the farm truck. I had nothing when I left. She and her newlywed husband took care of me until I could get on my feet. Another dear friend bought us a car when ours tanked while both my mother and our daughter were having chemo. My definition of friend is someone you can call at 3:00 AM and say "I'm broke down, I'm out of money and I'm three hours away." and their only reply is "give me directions while I get my keys and my pants." I'm blessed with several friends like that and I try to be a friend like that. Everyone else is an acquaintance.

If you can get a hold of them.. sigh.

They have and they would 100% as I would for them, I became homeless in 93 during the flood here and my friend let me move in her vacant home she had up for sale and I also received many things from other friends such as furniture, clothes and food, and usually you do find out who your friends are when times like this occur
