Uhh...honey, that article is about moderate DEMOCRATS who are against that particular bit of legislation, and others, pushed by Nancy Pelosi -- not republicans. The Lilly Ledbetter Act was signed into law. What it did was extend the statute of limitations for women to sue. Personally, I think it's a bad law already. The statute of limitations for suing civilly on pay discrimination for women can now be successfully drawn out to make it considerably longer than the statute of limitations for suing civilly for rape. It can be drawn out up to 6 months after the person leaves the job for salary received years and years in the past -- with no set statute. While the lawyers will love it (more money for them) it seems rather silly to me. But then, everyone wants a "settlement" these days I guess.

it should not be ...an employer should pay all according to merit and rank fairly...no matter the gender....a woman gleaned the fields of wheat at harvest time as well as the men and were paid the same....i dug potatoes when a kid and my uncle paid me the same, my brother too....a good days pay for a good days work is not to be gender or race biased...i am not a women libber in any way..but if a woman can fight a fire as good as a man...run a business and lead it as good as a man....then so be it...God saw many women that could do HIS WILL ,look at Miraim, the first woman professional in the Bible...and she was good and dedicated to God(except the time she dared question his authority) it trully is dishonest, unfair and unjust...:)JustMe its really still the worldly attitude of men....they will never want to see that women can do as good a job and sometimes better :)

I'm a Republican. Pay discrimination based on gender is illegal period - as it should be. But, why are you singling Republicans out? ANYONE who would suggest that unequal pay for equal work for ANY reason is acceptable is a moron regardless their group affiliation - period. If a Republican does so it just demonstrates that they're a moron - nothing more.
