  • Technically you don't. You are in a much larger debt than your country is worth. Net minus worth. Sad but true. UK is the same. We all ballsed up bad letting capitalism get out of hand. It will take at least 10 years to balance things out. Our grandchildren will be paying for our mistakes.
  • one of the main reasons is that the U.S. was one of the very very few industrialized countries in the world who didn't have to totally rebuild after WW2
  • We can attribute most of our (now spent) wealth on naural resources and creative ingenuity. The North American continent is rich in all of those things that we and other countries needed to be come industrialized and make more money. By contrast, you don't see diamonds being mined in the US attributed with major sales, right?
  • Because I know you have been deprived of any real world knowledge, I will pretend it is not common sense. Simply, population and assets. We are a very large country, third largest to be exact. All that land holds value. About a century ago we began putting our large country to work and created a large industry to use up all this land. This leads to financial prosperity for our country.
