  • Put money in a savings account and pretend that it's not there... maybe like $10 or $20 out of every paycheck. It will add up if you never touch it. It might be hard at first, but once you get used to it, you can start adding more.
  • neither am i.if i have an extra $50 i search and search for bike parts i dont need.to upgrade a component just to shave 30 grams off my bike.
  • Try to do it without noticing, set up a small percentage to be automatically placed into an internet savings account with each pay - a bank such as ING.com is wonderful because it has a 2 business day transaction time to get your money. Any spree-spending urges should be quelled by the time the funds actually are in your bank and accessible. It helped me, and I'm HORRID at saving. :)
  • There is no need to change you need to organize yourself in an easy going manner. To begin with, don't go shopping once you have collected your pay check first go home and do the following: 1] Change it to cash and have many envelopes with the name of the service companies or providers on each one. 2] Take your bills and also enclose them inside each envelope with the amount of money to pay each one. When you have finished distributing the money to pay your obligations, put them aside. 3] Take another envelope which should say "various expenses" put in that envelope what ever amount you usually spend on gas to get around with your car and whatever amount for other unavoidable expenses. Set it aside. 4]Count how much you have left. Take 15/20% of what is left and deposit it in a savings account if possible at a fixed 3 or 6 months which will provide interest. You will not be able to take the money out because it is at a fixed time frame. 5] What is left should be for your groceries and the small expenses we all have. Don't over spend with this amount, organize your diet so you will not spend in junk food or in things you will not used and will have to throw away. Buy what you need and won't get ruined until your next pay check, don't buy those things that need to be fresh which you can buy on a weekly basis. Separate that amount and forget it, it does not exist. With what ever amount you have left, spend it as you truly need it. Don't go shopping avoid temptation. Never take more than a fair amount of cash in your wallet which should cover your daily needs for an ice cream, a coffee or something of the sort. Try to save at least 15% of what you had in your wallet, once home put your days savings, even if a dollar, in a piggy bank. Keep on going like I have said and you will have at least $30.00 a month in your piggy bank and your other money in the bank and gaining interests. I hope this will help and good luck.
