  • The simplest soultion is to get a new dishwasher that is at least 0.5" shorter than the one you have now. It is a serious PITA to tear up an engineered wood floor and try to put it back the way it was. You really can't do it decently.
  • most appliances have adjustable legs. the new flooring should be installed under the dishwasher and the legs adjusted when reinstalled
  • I'm afraid that is one of the huge problems when you do a new floor in a kitchen and why it often turns into a major remodel. I don't like telling you that what the majority of people end up doing is replacing their countertops so the dishwasher will fit. Those adjustable legs don't do much at all and the height of most DW are pretty much the same. Ideally the new floors would go under the cabinets at least a few inches with plywood under them to be the same height all the way around.
  • There is probably room existing on top. Typically manufacturers leave one to one and a half inches to play with. Remove the dishwasher and install the floor including in the dishwashers slot. Or to save some money use a piece of plywood of the same thickness. You adjust the feet on the unit, then reinstall your washer.
