That is the most frightening development imaginable. The radically repressive Taliban...nuclear weapons...seized from Pakistan, whose government was too unstable to stop it from happening. Where is Iron Man when we need him? OK, all joking aside, I wish I knew what the UN could do. The UN or anybody else for that matter. The Taliban is evil. This is an interesting CNN interview with foreign affairs analyst Fareed Zakaria on the subject http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/04/22/zakaria.pakistan/index.html?iref=topnews

Nothing Just nuke the hell out of Pakistan. These people kiss the taliban ass and then when they take them over they yell for America to spend our money and fight their war for them and then we have to take half the country into America and gived them free benefits and they hate us the entire time. Let these other countries fight their own WARS and lets take care of the American people. If all these immigrants do not like the way we do things in America let their tails get out of America, they are not welcome here anyway.

Taliban is an evil empire. All they want do is kill people who do not adhere to their beliefs. Full scale war is the best answer before they get too powerful. Or we can all convert to extremist muslims.

Nothing, as a matter of fact the U.S should not have gotten itself involved in this in the first place, they should pull out of India's affairs as well, let them go at it and that will solve 3 problems at once, of course certain people wouldn't be able to continue the scare and fear tactics to pack the churches and shake the money tree for more more more allways where we don't belong, they may belong there but we don't .. ~Nemo~

The situation in Pakistan is dire to say the least. The US has made several huge mistakes during the former administration which have lead to the actual situation. 1] We should have unconditionally backed and supported General Pervez Mousharraf and never allowed him to step down, he was a faithful friend and a strong man who would have never permitted the actual crisis, if a coup d’etat was the answer for General Mousharraf to stay in control, then a coup d’etat it should have been. But the decider wanted to govern Pakistan from abroad, now the problem is also ours. How many coups have we backed in recent history, several dozens of them without regrets and with many silly explanations that no one believed. 2] When Pervez Mousharraf stepped down we should have promoted a coup to avoid a nuclear country from having a weak government. Ms. Bhutto could have perhaps done a serious job but of course she was taken out of the way because she meant “control”. 3] Pakistan now has a very weak government, with a president who goes from one serious mistake to a more serious one. He agreed to grant control of the Swat Valley to the Taliban and allowed them to impose their Sharia Law in the valley they now demand Sharia Law throughout Pakistan, the saying is true "give them a finger and they will take your hand". The excuse was very naive “it is a tribal area and we must appease it” have they? But so what, more on my side as tribal areas are inhabited by ignorant people who can easily be convinced to shift sides based on religious believes. He forgot that when you deal with ignorant people they understand agreement and acceptance as weakness and stupidity. It is late to look back thus we need to do something to avoid a third war we can not economically afford and we should not provide troops for it either. What if India is the second Taliban target? Are we also going to assume a fourth war? 4] The United States and Europe should not assume any responsibilities regarding Pakistan, the military should be urged to get rid of that president and take control not in a month but yesterday. We can help them with whatever we are capable of providing them, but no troops on ground or where ever. 5] There is another possibility and that is for NATO to provide the elite International Counter Terrorism Forces, if they don’t have enough troops there are several countries that have them and are very well trained. These forces should take the valley by force no matter what and get rid of the Taliban even if it becomes a massacre. NATO should first dismantle all nuclear facilities in one or another way even if they have to blow them up with whatever the consequences. It is either that massacre or a generalized nuclear war in the hands of evil and ignorant people. PS: We have a group of spies in this site those who number their answers, what do they want from us and why are they here? They smell like trouble but I don’t care.

I being a Pakistani am fed up of these! Believe me, to hear about a suicide attack or thousands of people being killed not surprises anyone. Problems like power shortage, high prices and terrorism makes it a worst country to live!
