We have bought a lot of things on EBay including a used car and a timeshare in Florida. As long as you do your research on things and check out the sell/buyers you are OK. We only had two problem with a seller getting something late and had a jerk try to force us to take an item he changed a description for (we didn't need that size and he was very unprofessional when we asked to have our bid removed.) By the way our timeshare we paid $1,200.00 for everything including that years maintence fee, and we found out it's worth between $18,00.00 and $20,00.00. (it's beautiful). Watch out for the shipping/handling fees and who you deal with and you should be fine. Remember Ebay & Paypal have be targets of pshing scams so be careful with your info.

Occasionally. I have had pretty good luck with Ebay. I have never sold, but I got on this kick buying tons of random stuff through there.

Then I got laid off and I stopped Ebaying so much.

- Yeah I know...and then there is that competive thing where..no one will out bid me! lol..but I have been good..I had to step away from it..I just won a bid on two items and forgot how to paypal it had been so long! lol

I used to sell on eBay until my camera broke, so it's useless to try and sell without a photo. I have bought heaps of stuff over a period of three years - clothing for all the family, cosmetics, DVD's and videos, saddlery, jewellery, books, porcelain, electrical goods.....I have only been caught once (for less than $7 ) and I honestly think something happened to the seller because they just disappeared. I love eBay!!

- I do hope that you reported this seller..I had to once when I bought a number of items from a seller and she fell through, saying that her "provider" of the goods wasn't coming up with the items..I reported and she lost her account..after I left negative feedback of course

- The seller had a perfect record up to a particular date, but from that date on there was only negative feedback from customers who didn't recieve their stuff. I recon they might have died or something equally traumatic!

Yes, I do both and have been a seller on eBay since 1998. It's more rencently that I started to do buying. If you know hwat you want and what to pay for it-there are some really good deals on it.

- Not all the time. It just happens to fall into my lap every once in a while. Where I'm from it's not too big of an item. Most of the stuff I sell in jewelry is pot metal jewelry fro the war eras. It's crazy how much people will pay for rhinestones!

Ebay is my life. 85% of the stuff in my bedroom is from ebay. I mostly buy stuff that has Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson in them, like magazines, or posters I don't have(foreign stuff). But I usually buy magazines. I'm always on the look out for new taproot stuff, like new or rare CD's. I buy stuff that I know I can never get in the stores. I also sell magazines I don't like on there, articles of stuff I have but don't like.

- I know. That's why I don't really like selling things on that site. Its too much work trying to get someone to buy the thing you're selling, then you have to see the shipping charges, the customs charges, see if the person even likes what you're selling...you spend more money trying to sell the item than what the item was bought for.

- To tell you the truth, I do. But I don't really use what I make for myself. I give it all to my mother(it goes into her paypal account). I'm talking about the big stuff that weighs a lot, because I've sold guitars over Ebay and I got $210 dollars for it, but I only made like $100 with shipping and insurance charges.

- That's true. You can't make the shipping too high or what it really is, because peopl aren't going to wanna buy a guitar or something heavy on ebay if they see the shipping is $50. The best thing is to sell magazines and stuff that you can send through regular mail, so you don't have to ship from the post office and pay for shipping. Its so much better buying, but there's problems with buying too. Are they going to send you the item? Are you going to actually get the item on time? Will they leave you negative feedback? I once bought a 6ft by 4ft rupert Grint poster on there. It cost $100, and I(and my mom, she wanted to win that poster) were up against like 5 people who keep betting against us, its crazy!

Ebay is terrible. I barley turnd 19. I got a Credit card. I was going to buy a memory card for my digital camera. I payed 4.99 for the product and 14.99 shipping. the guy did not ship it. I tried everything to contact him. Amazon is secured and very eazy to pay. I am a antiebay.
