I played through it once and enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as 2; the story was not nearly as good. I'm not sure abut CGs.

It's a good game. The story is promising at first, although unfortunately, it falls down quick, to mould the rest of the RPG cliché...but, the gameplay and combat is something else entirely, and is what makes the game worth playing. Consider what you like best about role playing games before playing it.
