Yes, unfortunately some people do this. "What do you think of when you hear the word *****?" is one. "What does the ***** typeface remind you of?" is another, which gave rise to scores of identical questions. Of course, it does tend to backfire, because when people realise they are reading the same question over and over again, they start to downrate.

so many people are on the internet because they are bored witless.

I know I asked a question the other day because I really did need help with something and no one has answered it. But all those questions that are pointless and meaningless have multiple answers. I guess this website wasn't what I thought it was.

I asked the same thing some time ago--at least I got points for complaining. There ARE a lot of us out here who use the site for legit reasons; you just have to be patient and wade through the garbage sometimes. And also be happy with that one, useful answer to your question, instead of getting 100+ points for an inane question! so hang in there!

That is the way some people play the AB game, yes. It isn't right and it isn't above board. Sometimes I get SOOOO bored I have to leave AB for an hour during a session in hopes of coming back to a new, better crop of questions. The dulpicate questions are getting on my last nerve as well. I have seen three of my own in the past two weeks.
