What is your opinion on reality TV shows? Do you think reality deserves a prize like what's given away on these shows?

Its hard to say, one one hand - yes, they deserve a big prize for putting up with being humiliated in a lot of cases, on the other hand, they offer themselves up for this humiliation, so if they get nothing, it doesn't matter. I think the prizes really are a bit excessive on some shows.

1. They in no way show "reality" (with the exception of a very few, like 30 Days). They are popular because they appeal to people's voyeuristic tendencies. 2. Personally, I dislike them and ignore them. 3. For me, the prize would not be worth being on a reality show, because I'm pretty quiet and introverted, and being on national TV does NOT appeal to me in any way. I suppose to most people, though, the experience would be worth it.

Reality TV is a black eye in the entertainment industry.I work behind the scenes in the biz and because reality TV requires very small crews of people and no professional actors/actresses it takes away jobs in the industry.The cooperate film companies reap the profits because of low overhead but the people in the industry loose their jobs. This craze will be short lived but the industry as a whole will loose.

I think it's wore it's welcome out - I'm burnt out after the frist one I saw and I barley watched it - For the prizes well yeah because that was the agreement - Deserve it not really -

I don't think there is any reality in them. People don't often get locked in a house with other strangers, and have to compete in challenges for food, or get stranded on an island either. They are more like an extremely long game show.

I can't stand reality TV shows, I stay away from them.

Ithink that reality TV shows are terrible, and do not deserve a surprise. They in no way depict reality, if you want reality step out your door and go do something in the world. I think they take away precious air time from sitcoms and gameshows. I'll take a episode of Match game over Survivor anyday.

I'm embarressed to say that I do watch some reality shows. I tried not to but my husband lured me in and now I can't get out! Help me, please.

I think a lot of the reality shows have now done away with the reality part of them and have became rather scripted which sort of defeats the purpose. Shows like big brother is now like flogging a dead horse and most of the contestants are on it as a step into the limelight for bigger and better things.
