There is only one way IMO. Good beans, grind them freshly, and use a decent espresso machine. A small machine, one button, judge it yourself and just let it trickle =D Perfecto!!

Hope you are not referring to instant coffee, lol...start with a clean coffeepot, clean filter holder, use about 5 2 oz scoops of ground coffee per pot, adjust as necessary to your taste...my Laz and I like very strong coffee, we use 6 level 2 oz scoops per 12 cup pot, we prefer Maxwell House South Pacific Blend, but almost any brand made with 100% arabica beans is acceptable.

As long as the beans aren't burnt by the roasting process and you use filtered water you'll be fine. Also, clean your coffeepot out with vinegar once a week. This is why I prefer an electric kettle / french press combo, much easier to clean and control.

Buy great beans, stored airtight at room temperature. Grind them using a burr grinder, a good one. Does it matter? Very much. Lousy grinders will make lousy coffee, more than a bad coffeemaker. Take care of those beans. Place the ground coffee in a French Press and pour just boiling water in the carafe. Stir with a chopstick. Wait a few minutes. Count to 2-3 minutes for a small press or 4 minutes for a larger one. Add lid. Press down and enjoy. The amounts to add: 1 rounded tablespoon per "cup" (about 4oz) or roughly 8.5 grams of coarse ground coffee per 4oz of water used.

First, slowly grind the beans between your teeth with your unyielding rage! Then place the grounds in a filtration vessel made from the skull of your most hated advasary! Then, pour through water purified and boiled with your seething hatred! Next, pour the concoction into a mug made from sundried bones of a demon! And lastly, add cream and suger and enjoy!:)
