  • The way *I* would do it would be to edit a file called xorg.conf and add (or uncomment) a line that reads "Emulate3Buttons". That's how I'm used to doing that sort of stuff, but there is a better and easier way. In Ubuntu it's better to type: "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" from a terminal. This will walk you through a series of options related to your video hardware, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ubuntu, click the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously and simulate a center mouse button depression.
