  • Saw because our minds are becomeing more and more desensitised to violence, so it takes more and more to get a thrill out of us. Saw always keeps up with that standard. And i don't like the old horror movies where you dont see the monster/bad guy untill ther very end of the movie when someone kills it, its too cliche.
  • [ I guess I wouldn't call the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre older horror, only because " older" is a relative term to me :)] The original silent old "Nosferatu" is much better than gore-infested, tortuous Saw movies any day. [ Though the first Saw was quite good to me ] The Saw movies seem to be full of characters one doesn't really care about -- possibly the same could be said of original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but TCM is a better film than the Saw series to me. In general, give me the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead, 1963 The Haunting and 1960 Psycho over any of the Saw films. :)
  • I seem to prefer the classics of any franchise for some reason, whenever it was that they were first made, my personal favourites being cheesy slashers from the late seventies into the eighties. However this does not mean, whatsoever, that I'm adverse to new forms of horror like Saw. I watch them all, any horror I can get my hands on, and while there's usually something stupid to point out about either shoddy atmospheric settings or the authenticity of things like Saw, I can also always find something good about all of it.
