  • boiled- it is very simple to do- simply take a beaker fill it up with salt water- connect a tube to it and then on the other end of the tube have another beaker- type in the word "desalination" on google and you'll see what I mean
  • There are two very common ways to do this: Distillation: The salt water/impure water is boiled, and the steam is recondensed into "Distilled Water" which has no minerals whatsoever, just pure water. Reverse Osmosis: It's rather slow, but much more energy effecient than distillation. It involves a permeable membrane allowing only molecules of a certain size to pass through. It also requires great pressure (about 100 lbs/sq. in.) to force the molecules through the membrane, but it does seperate the water from the salt quite effectively.
