I prefer non-pirated copies of any artistic work. Cheating the artists out of their money doesn't seem like a very good way to show one's appreciation of the art form. Plus there's that little federal felony thing.

I never down load anything. I buy it or just watch it, and I buy a LOT!

If I like it I buy it, after all if you don't support what you like, then you aren't encouraging more of it, they don't make those shows for free and bringing them to the West makes it all the more difficult and expensive, if people just pirate the things then anime wont grow especially in the West.
