You're reading I am Extremely Afraid of Insects that Sting. I am so afraid of them that I will avoid going outside much of the warmer months. I know most of them will not bother me if I don't bother them. I am still scared. Any advice? Thanks.

Thanks for your lengthy reply. I appreciate. I have not tried repellant-but I will keep that in mind. My fear has gotten worse this year. If I hear someone with a buzz saw miles away, I assume it is an insect buzzing near me and run inside shaking-I go to the mirror to make sure nothing 'got' me. I panic. I try to be rational-I am rational, just not outside-lol.

Yeah, it's the buzzing that gets me. I've got long, thick curly hair and I'm scared it's gonna get stuck in my hair.
Honest, though, if you do try to just keep still for as long as you can they nearly always just fly away - I know it's hard though.
I once jumped out of a moving car because a wasp flew in through the window. Luckily we weren't going very fast (and I wasn't driving).

Oh my gosh. I've wanted to jump out of the car before. I've been praying. I'll keep what you wrote in mind. Thank you.
