What are your views of a relationshop between a 42 yr. old woman & a 20 yr. old man, & also one where the MAN is 42 & the woman is 20?

the older man to the younger woman is more accepted and better seen, as for the older woman and the younger man...well she gets called a COUGAR!

As long as both of you are 18+, which you both are, then I think it is okay to do whatever you wish. The older you get, the less age matters, I think. There is issues about life experiences to deal with. I think the older individual needs to be cognizant of the experience differences. It is hard for difference in age to have common ground on many things, as well. Such discrepancies can be worked out if both parties truly love each other, though. Love will find a way. I would not listen to anyone in society who speaks against the relationship working out, either. Good luck!
