Her name was Anne. I met her at the hospital in Jackson Mississippi 1999. I was delivering packages to the children who had cancer for Christmas. (A group of my friends and I would do toy runs for different hospitals around the holidays). I Got to play Santa this time around. Anne Had to be helped to come sit on my lap as she was very weak. Had the biggest smile on her face for such a small child of 7. I asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she said she wanted her daddy to be there for Christmas morning which was just two days away. He was snowed in and may not make it back in time. I gave her a doll and told her I would try really hard to get her Daddy there for her. We got the information from her mother and got to work on this request by calling everyone we knew and they making calls until we had a plan through truck drivers to air travel. It cost a little more than normal and we had to cash in many favors but it was worth the look on Anne face when her daddy walked in Christmas morning. The sad truth came crashing in that Anne past away 3 hours after her daddy arrived, peacefully in her sleep holding her daddy's hand. The ride back to Tennessee was the longest and quietest time I think I had ever known.

Spending summers growing up in my best friend's camp in Waveland. Spent all summer swimming, fishing, crabbing, water skiing, and walking in the woods. Was a great way to grow up. The camp was beautiful, and unfortunately, destroyed by Katrina. Not even signs of a slab on the property.
