Happy or sad doesn't matter to me. I'm more interested in a good ending. I hate a movie that leaves unanswered questions when they are done.

Depends on the type of movie. I like an ending that fits and gives the story a quality conclusion. A contrived happy ending is much worse than a well written, but sad ending. At the same time it is hard to watch a children's movie with a sad ending. i will never forget taking my former gf to the movies with her son and the ending being so sad that it shook him up.

Im not really sure. Some happy endings are just really lame and expected but then again. I recently watched 'American history X' and the ending made me so depressed, I hoped into bed with that last image in my head of him lying there dead. it was horrible!.

I prefer happy endings. Life has enough sad endings on its own....
