This 420ft AKAKA FALLS Akaka Falls is a spectacular 420ft waterfall north of Hilo. It is the most attractive of the accessible waterfalls on the Big Island and therefore it is very popular. In fact, it's probably a sight that you can't miss if you're visiting this island (along with Rainbow Falls). The viewing area for the falls overlooks a very large bowl-shaped amphitheater into which the falls tumbles. There's also a little shelter as well where you might be seeing someone peddle their wares to tourists.
