  • because they are stupid! oh! it makes my blood boil when people do that kind of thing - do you know how many people suddenly bought owls as pets when the Harry Potter films first came out? Do they not realise these animals are not just an accessory you can toss aside when the fashion changes??? Sorry.. but it does annoy me! (do you get the impression I am rather irritated?)
  • Mommy please, pleases, can I, can I, can I....
  • The same reason they get other pets for their children -- pups, kittens, etc. while they are young and cute. The kids want them while they are cute and new...but quickly lose interest in the responsibility that pets bring. We parents just let hope spring eternal. It's why I have a 9 year old dog, a 25 year old Amazon parrot, a 12 year old cockatiel, and a 3 year old beta fish that all depend on me. Yet, I'm still getting my daughter 3 ducklings to raise this easter. I expect that in 3 weeks, they will be my ducklings and they'll be following me down to the pond when they are old enough to start swimming.
  • Because they don't have enough respect for animals, and see them as inanimate possessions instead of living creatures with feelings.
  • Idiot religion nut cases. Easter is supposed to be the celebration of a myth so they have further made it into an even more bizarre myth of the "easter bunny" Just because it pisses so many people off...Goddammit!
  • That's folks for ya. Some folks feel that "dominion over the animals" includes using them like paper towels.
