  • no I don't- yes you do- no I don't- yes you do- shut up strange voices- SHUT UP!!
  • No. I have my many strange rituals and quirks, but not so far as to say it is an OCD
  • I have a tendency to develop it, especially when I'm stressed. I now recognise when I'm starting to get it and I have to do something to stop it before it becomes a real problem.
  • WHATS THAT MEAN??????????11 HUH?? IS THAT A TYPE OF VID OR A PHIXZOLMMIRACOULUSFFJMGLEMINCELIMICE! THATS A REAL WORD! LOOK IT UP BOOKWORMS OR BAGGERS
  • yah these 2 guys i know have ocd over the lotr books

  • Yes. I know several people with OCD. I have never had it myself. I think I probably know 8-10 people suffering with the disorder.
  • My friend Callum is bipolar and suffers from an OCD about cleaning things.
  • I believe that everyone is a little OCD in the slightest way. We all have things that bother us. I think everyone has a little thing that if it isn't right it bugs them, or maybe that's just me and I'm slightly OCD.
  • Yes I have been diagnosed by 2 doctors as having OCD. I have had it for over 10 years. I have found therapy helpful and would also be willing to share with you anything helpful I can about this illness. I have found only one medication regimen helpful. You can email me at lsd25forfun@hotmail.com.
  • Yes. I am 36 years old and have had it since I was 6 years old though there werent really any doctors that were calling it that at the time. I want to try and help anyone who is suffering from it if possible because I have found much help thru trial and error of several doctors efforts. Feel free to mail me at lsd25forfun@hotmail.com with questions.
  • I have things that I do, that annoy people, that I just HAVE to do. I.e. When watching t.v. at night, I turn on a two-hour off-timer. Everytime I change channel it displays the time left, and if its say 1:57, I have to change it back to two-hours. I do this without even thinking now and it infuriates everyone who watches t.v. with me.
  • Yes. My friend is obsessed with cleaning. She's had counseling and she now owns & operates her own cleaning service and is one of the best in the business, making $$$! It has also helped her at home, enabling her to realize that an unmade bed, once in a while, is not important.
  • Yes. Damn it!!! Now I have to wash my hands 15 times and count to 100 by 3's.
  • I have a little understood form of OCD which causes me to talk too much. I cannot control myself, and I often feel I am being forced to talk against my will. People make fun of people like me ("She just talks, talks, talks") and they don't realize it is a compulsion.
  • My mom claims she does, but for a woman with OCD she sure doesn't clean much. But she does spend alot of money and not remember what on.
  • I do not have OCD, although I think I have a tendency towards it. An example, is I will sometimes get the feeling that my fingernails are too far away from my fingers, and will spend hours methodically pushing in the tips of my fingers towards the fingernails. The reason I don't believe it is OCD, is that when I realize I am doing it, I stop. I used to find myself doing it two or three times a month, but in recent years, have only done it maybe once or twice a year. I have a good friend who I'm certain has OCD. He is a compulsive hand-washer. He washes his hands dozens of times a day...to the point that his skin is all cracked and dried on his hands. He can't help himself, and I don't believe he even knows he is doing it. He used to blame the cdry and cracked skin on the work that he did (working with solvents). He changed jobs three years ago, and I think his hand-washing has become more frequent and the washing sessions have become longer. I have pointed it out to him and to his wife, but neither of them think there is anything wrong with it. He now blames his dry and cracked skin on the fact that he lives in a dry area, and they are talking about moving somewhere tropical to "take care of the problem." I don't feel that this compulsion is bad enough that I would arrange an intervention, as it is not harming him significantly and it doesn't seem to bother anyone else.
  • I believe I have it. I was never diagnosed but I have to check everything in the house about 3 times before I leave. Also, everything in the house has to be in it's place before I leave.
  • If he doesn't know or realize he's doing it that's more like OCPD (Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder). I have OCD. And yes, hand washing is one of the more common compulsions. If it gets to the point where he's groaning, or really getting bad with the obsessions or compulsions, then he should get some kind of help; unless of course he'd rather live with it, which frankly is easy way out when you have to show or tell someone else this problem. Like any other mental disorder, OCD can be shameful or embarassing for some, depending how bad it is, and how the person reacts to certain issues. Maybe theyboth know, but they'd rather not say it's bothering them; who wants to admit they're helpless, or weak, or who's going to ask for help? Every night I have these compulsions with a lot of things, but some make noise. And my mother comes to me and asks what those noises are. I blame it on the fact that my door is unhinged, or that something else is wrong with my door, or something else in my room. Even though I'm pretty sure she knows it's more than just that. I hope I helped, but I don't know if you needed help, or what you were looking for really. If there was a more particular or specific question or something like that I would have given a more precise answer. But if you need anything, you can contact me. Take Care!
  • A girl at work today said I had it. Do I? All I did was separate my jelly beans by color, before eating them. I don't like to mix the flavors.
  • Yes, I do. And I find no humor in people mocking the disease because it is very disabling and I am fortunate to be able to afford medication so I am not completely inhibited in my life.
  • it is undiagnosed, but i think i do. if i tell people they think i am lying. i can control it most of the time, but sometimes it gets really bad. i dont think its funny when people joke about OCD because it is a serious thing.
  • I do, but it is not too intense. I have to look perfectly groomed all the time. When I am away from home, staying in a hotel and nobody is there with me in the room, I have to remove everything from my pockets and align everything perfectly straight. The bottles in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, hair spray) have to be dry with the labels facing front...Even when I know that nobody else is there!!!!!! Anyway...it is not as bad as they way it happens to Monk...
  • I brush my teeth a lot, have to rinse my hair 8 times in the shower, wash my hands as soon as I can when I shake hands with a stranger, and have to touch the outside of any airplane I get on. You know...the usual.
  • hitting refresh to find new questions!
  • I have so many! lol..hand washing, everything has to be in its place, clean freak. Checking the knobs on the stove about 10 times to make sure it is off before I go to bed.
  • Spending money. Every time I get some I just have to spend it for some reason I can't/won't save it. I hate it! I go crazy knowing it's in there and I get obsessed with having to spend on anything just so my bank account it empty again. Its so bad that some times I just stay home on my days off so I won't spend it. This use to help me some what but now there is the internet!
  • My wallet has to have the money notes in the correct order, highest denomination at the back, lowest at the fornt, facing me as the wallet is opened and the correct way up. I do get funny looks at the bar, when everybody just wants to order their drinks am I'm still fumbling with re-arranging the change I've got into the correct way. I got £30 out of a cashpoint last week, and all three notes were a different way round. Torture!
  • My bed sheets and bedspread HAVE to be perfectly straight and together. I cannot stand if the sheet is a fraction longer/shorter than the spread. And it HAS to be tucked perfectly on all sides, evenly.
  • Yes i do.
  • Oh yes....ask anyone I know... I even put it in my profile! lol :•Þ
  • I don't but am close to someone that IS medically diagnosed with this disorder. We all have something like OCD but the real deal isn't something funny or fun to have. It causes chaos in the life of the person who has it if they cannot fullfill the impulsive behavior (hand washing, checking the lights?) that their brain is telling them to do.
  • I am a comulsive counter and toucher, i count my steps down hallways or anywhere and i make sure that those i take the same amoount of steps back or i redo it until its the right number i count stairs up and down and i always have to touch things i go around them with my finger and if i feel as if i missed a spot i'll redo it until i get it right, I had one of those zig zag scissors one time and i couldnt get my finger in between the ridges and I felt as if i was going to go crazy so i spent an hour or so getting it right. one thing that really bothers me is the yellow lines in the middle of the road i was going to milwaukee once and i counted the yellow lines all the way there then all the way back and no mattered how hard i tried to stop i couldnt i just couldnt get my eyes off those lines i do the the same with road signs, power lines, fences, etc.
  • Yes I have it and it sucks it ruins your life and you get the feelings of up and downs a lot.
  • No. No. No.
  • No...but maybe schizophrenic :P.
  • I didnt use to but I seem to be developing it :(
  • Thanks for the question. I suffer from it to a degree. Often, I go over things in my mind way to much. OCD is a psychiatric diagnosis. Many people do have this and it can affect the quality of there lives in many ways. The following links are provided. http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/obsessive-compulsive-disorder-ocd/index.shtml http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessive-compulsive_disorder
  • yes right now its in a mild stage but sometimes it gets worse though.
  • AB is proof of it! LOL Seriously, all people have obsessive or compulsive behaviour. It is only when it becomes dangerous or interferes with daily life that it becomes a disorder. eg I collect things, but I have seen people who collect so much that their houses are full of stuff and they hyperventilate at the thought of throwing a single thing out. eg I wash my hands a bit. But there are those who wash their hands so often their skin is red raw, and still they scrub If you feel that your obessions/compulsions are getting out of hand, please ask your doctor for help. Or your priest/pastor/ counsellor. There is good evidence that OCD is another form of depression, so can be treated by counselling and/or medication.
  • YES I DO
  • no i dont no i dont no i dont no i dont
  • Yes. My father has it and my mother has trace amounts of it... it runs in the family.
  • I was actually diagnosed with a slight version of it when I was younger, but we never did anything with it. I just get a little aggrivated easier when things arent clean, and I like to have things organized. I count things alot, too. lol. =P Im weird like that. ~+~
  • yes I count, organize, but the worst is racing thoughts at night on how to rearrange a room, or going to a friends and start looking for things that need cleaning. Awhhhhhhhhhhhhh will it ever stop?!!!!!
  • I do. its not severe, but its not minor. lol. its related to my tourettes. If i touch something with one hand, i must touch it with the other. If someone taps me on one shoulder, they have to tap the other shoulder. It has to be equal on both sides. Its pretty annoying. lol. If there is something I see not straight or perfect or out of place, it must be fixed. Oooo... it rele sux if a strand of hair on some starnger's hair is out of place, b/c I want to fix it, but i dont want thm to thk im sum creeper and scream rape. lol. :)
  • No but at times I think I do LOL
  • Yes, it's gotten a bit better though.
  • Yes. It used to be really bad...taking up almost 4-6 hours of my day... I'm thankful that it's about over 80% gone, it's still quite irritating... Working hard...
  • I dont know what i have but im sure i need some kinda of tweaked out drugs.lol
