Yes it is. There's a lake across the street from our house. During the winter, people come by and set up little "huts" on the ice to fish in! I always wonder if the ice is thick enough to support their weight, but they don't seem to be falling in!!

Nope..southern California's only frozen ponds are ice skating rinks. But I'll betcha in Minnesota ice fishing is the cat's meow! Happy Friday! :) ((hugs))

No, it seldom gets cold enough here to ice over a puddle let alone a lake.

Some do it but it's not very popular. Our ice often is rotten, (Not very safe) because we have too many thaws during the winter.
