  • you can avenge someones death, not revenge. and you can't know something that no one knows, so stop worrying.
  • Murder can never be justified. That is just for people who are trying to convince them that it can be. So no he is not going to be forgiven
  • "Judge not least ye be judged" "Vengeance is Mine sayeth the Lord" "Though shall not Kill" He had malice aforethought... knew he was doing wrong before he acted and is depending on forgiveness... If I was God, he'd be sh!t out luck.
  • Those who "know" what God wants, believes, thinks are quite arrogant as far as I'm concerned. Unless this person has had a direct conversation with God..really, not in his mind, how dare he presume to know what God will or will not do? Same with all those who profess to know..they don't have a clue, just like the rest of us. I believe one of the commandments says "Thou Shalt Not Kill". It doesn't say "unless you feel like it". Happy Thursday! :)
  • You can't justify murder, especially cold blooded, unless you are obliged to while under extreme physical attack, but this was not the case...He is right that God will forgive him, when he honestly repents, yada yada. But that's not the point of forgiveness, you can't do this stuff premeditated and expect that God "approves" because you said you're sorry. You can't substitute asking permission for asking forgiveness as I suspect happened. And what a fellow he is, claiming he had the authority to do what he did. Terrible terrible resolution. I have barely any sympathy for him.
  • God can forgive anything, but will He? One of the requirements for being forgiven by God is truly feeling sorry for the sin. At this time, it does not sound as if your colleague could say a prayer like this and mean it: My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong And failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Amen. Hopefully he will soon have a change of heart, admit his sin, repent, and be forgiven. With love in Christ.
  • Too bad the legal system ain't quite as forgiving as his god
  • First of all sin is sin to God. Jesus said you must be born-again. see John 3:7 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Psalm 66:18 We can not judge anyone, because we don't know who's heart God will change.
  • How can God forgive somene who is not sorry? Yes, the ransom of Christ certainly covers him if he is genuinely sorry, and God reads hearts. He knows the truth of the matter. If he isn't sorry, then there is no basis for forgiveness, as this would be forcing him into a situation he doesn't want. God doesn't force anyone. Mind you, if he is genuinely sorry, and turns around from his wrong course, yes, there is a basis for forgiveness.
  • He should because an eye for an eye.
  • This is why we have a law, a court. To give punishment to a convicted person is it's job not our. You can imagine what mayhem would it bring if everyone started taking these matters into there own hands. If he had a good clue or witness against that person why didn't he dragged the culprit to the court?. If he didn't how can he be sure that he killed his son?. And what did the court did when that friend of your killed that person without any good proof. So the murder committed by this person was wrong. Now the question is Would the God forgive this person. There are certain terms according to which I think Forgiveness should be given. What if the person he killed was not the one who killed his son then he will not be forgiven because he would have killed a person without inquiring that did he actually killed his son. If that person really killed his child then he maybe and maybe not be forgiven because to do this was the job of the court not his. So his chances of not being forgiven compared to be are 70:30
  • "If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe." The Bible, Torah and the quaran all have something along the same lines.
  • Your colleague's son's killer had God-like-power over (to end) his son's life. Your colleague had the same God-like-power over (to end) his son's killer's life. The State might have the same God-like-power over (to end) your colleague's life. Same power every hunter has over its prey, a billion times a day on this planet. Do you seen the chain? 'Godliness' is relative. Hence God is myth.
