It sounds like you have an older version of your PC's software intalled. Check for any updates and/or buy a new service pack.

I restored my settings by using an earlier date on the computer when it was working good. It always worked for me. I never used a disk or anything.

It may need you to check the settings in the control panel to see what your video card is setup to display. In the control panel should also be the sound settings as well. they may have been restored to the factory defaults.. Run the update again and download and install them again. Once you get it running then back it up straight away..

You need to reinstall some drivers. Which operating system? Windows Update might be able to fix it, that's the easiest route. If not you may need to go to the manufacturers' websites.

You used the Dell restore CD, right? That should have all the drivers on it. You can always download them from the Dell website anyway.
