Is the playstation old? if it is then that could be the problem and you need a new one. Or the disc is scratched up. You could look at the disc in the light and look for scratch marks.

It's either the console or the disc. Try several games, and if it happens with all of them, then your magic eye is probably shot. :/ Not sure if they still replace or repair them though. Otherwise, it might be your disc. PS discs are actually damn cheap, even if you take care of it, it gets worn out fast. You could get it rebuffed though. They do this in most video rental places for like one dollar.

IF this is a (fat) PS2 and if none of your other games work, I can fix the laser to where it WILL work. I've repaired around 20 PS2's with this same problem and all worked well afterwards. Thats only if you WANT to though.
