  • for the same reason we give sex education here in Britain and kids at 13 become pregnant, because they do not listen
  • From what I have seen on documentaries, it is the men who are cheating and then bringing it home to their poor wives who pass it on to their unborn children. The men obviously don't like condoms. Who does? But they need to use them. +2
  • Aids is already a pandemic so all the free condoms, sex education, and medicines is not going to prevent its spread 100%. Africa has a very high number of rapes and bloody crimes which helps spread the disease. Condoms does not prevent the spread of aids, and medicines only help treat the symptoms of aids. Do the math boss.
  • Firstly, an awful lot of them don't get those things, despite the worth efforts of many to spread them. Only about 1/3 of South Africa's HIV infected are getting the proper medicines, and it is worse in the rest of the continent. Many of Africa's men believe that wearing condoms is weak and unmanly. and won't do it - and in patriarchal societies, women do not have the power to insist. And few adults will listen to education. All these things reduce the spread of HIV. It may, possibly be nearing a peak of infections, albeit not of deaths yet. All these things are having an effect, but it is a long hard road before deaths actually start to fall.
  • People in Africa do not get those things. Free condoms, sex education, and medicines are unlikely to be passed around to people in Africa. Less than 15 % of HIV positive people are actually getting medicine. Some parts of Africa, during war, rape is very common.
