My 94 year old mother. Not for her longevity but for her strength, courage, wisdom, humor, generosity and goodness of heart.

Anyone who overcomes the odds and follows their own passion. I had a friend named Ed who was a hemophiliac and was in a car accident that ruined his legs and nearly took his life. Because of his passion to develop an educational program for kids with autism, he overcame all of the physical obstacles and created a wonderful program that helps autistic kids connect to learning and to their families. Seeing his patience and love for those kids brought me to tears every time. My dear friend Ed died in September 2005, after falling in his home and bleeding to death before he was found. All I have to do is think of his passion and determination if ever I am feeling sorry for myself.

My mom, she raised all 7 of us very well, most of the time on her own while my dad was away at work. We always got on the school bus happy, clean, and well fed, and when we got off the school bus we were always happy to be home. My dad, he moved here with nothing and worked his butt off until he had purchased a home, then he sent for my mom - at the time there were only 3 kids. He started off very small, with nothing, but he has worked incredibly hard his entire life, and has everything to show for it.

Sometimes it isn't just the big people like Billy Graham and Mother theresa (alhtough they do inspire me), but little people such as my friend in Bali, who turned up on public transport to see us once in our hotel. We asked him where his motor bike was and he eventually confessed that he had sold it, and emptied his bank account (he was a post-grad student at the time) to help his sister and her children.

a friend of mine chantel, she gave up all the chance of having a good education, and risking that she might never have a good job to stay at home with her baby niece free of charge, while her sister works, and she volunteered, its the most kind-hearted thing ive heard of!

A lot of people have inspired me in my life. The first one was my mom with her strength, she never gives up no matter what happens to her, and trust me she has been through a lot. I guess she is my main inspiration, then a lot of people i have met, i believe everyone has something to teach, and that inspires me. Some writes have inspired me to write, some singers to sing, and so on, i find inspiration everywhere, even on a leaf that falls from the tree, i guess i am just weird. haha

At the time of his birth on the full moon of March 640 B.C., a Hindu prince was born the richest and most powerfull person on the planet. He had tons of gold, a small mountain of rubies and jewels in the palace vaults, a vast army with thousands of elephants, hundreds of thousands of soldiers, yet he gave it all up and walked away to search for the truth ... he wandered, penniless and barefoot, with a single thin robe ... after asking every priest and every educated person he could find and not getting adequate answers, he sat before a wall in a symbolic gesture, saying he would get better answers from a wall ... he then searched himself with inward meditation and found that God had hidden the secrets of the universe within each of us, we have only to look and see ... he was enlightened in a sudden burst of profound realization and became the Buddha.

I find the biographies of great historical figures to be very inspirational.

My father inspired me the most, the reason behind this is the ability to plan and execute the goals and targets with limited resources and his way of thinking about business, about life, and about everything which is quite different to others. He is the most self motivated person I know and also motivate others to do their job. They pushed me to my limits and new levels, no matter what obstacles were in the way they always find a way to help me achieve my dreams. He is my ideal and I always want to follow his footsteps.

The voice in my head.

My daughter. She inspires me to be a better person, to challenge myself and do my best. I know that she depends on me to protect her and guide her in the right and wrongs in life. I have to be my best to help her be her best. I have to strive to be all I can be so that she knows not to give up and to keep trying her best no matter what life sends your way.

Everyone. Because in some form, some way.. Everyone influences you, inspires you. If the person is doing something wrong, he/she inspires you to live differently. If that person is doing something admireable, then you are inspired to do as they do.
