yes, i guess we are allmost their with the internet.
-
I think so communication wise, however, life is better with variety to spice it up.
-
I suppose it would enhance communications and better the world, but that would be so boring.
-
It could possibly but it's still spoken language. I think telepathy would make a larger differance because human-beings atleast most dont care about anything but themselves.
-
Probably.
-
It wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting ...
-
it would be easier to communicate but what'd be the fun of going to a different country and being totally submursed into their culture? i think its intresting to learn what other words mean to people and how they say them.
-
For me yes, because i am trying to learn spanish at the mo for my forthcoming holiday!
-
Yes, the language of love could make it easier!
-
No, because language would become stale and have on other language to incorporate into itself, plus some things just sound sooo much better in another language. Nacho. Guacamole. Sushi. Ramen.
-
I believe it would be easier to conduct business and it would help eliminate many of the class struggles, because many times a language barrier is the biggest barrier between classes in many areas. I do think this would rob us some of the culture though. Part of the appeal of other cultures is hearing the foreign language. The question is... what language would we all speak? Which truly is the most expressive language of them all? It isn't English, I think it would be Hebrew or Latin... many of the words in those languages are very expressive, and cannot be translated adequately in English to preserve the intensity of them.
-
No, wheres the fun in that?
-
No, it would be really boring. I like different languages, we just have to make more effort to understand each others!
-
No! Its so interesting finding out how language has been invented locally according to the setting and the people. Did you know that people on Greenland have 40 words for snow? And did you know that several cultures don't have a word for music?
-
yes
-
It wouldn't be as interesting, but it would make communication a lot easier.
-
we'd all develop dialects that would eventually become new languages anyway.
-
Could have sign language standard With everyone.
-
