  • After living in Germany for five years, just about any speed limit feels too slow. But here where I live the roads are so bad that I'm not sure if they're low enough.
  • In the United States, the orighinal speed limit on the interstate system was 75 mph. This speed proved to be deadly, since to most drivers, 75 mph meant 90 or 100. During the fuel crisis, the speed was reduced to 55 mph. no one obeyed this speed limit, either. So, the Feds decided to let each state select its own speed limit. In most states, its now 70 mph. I am more comfortable driving 60 mph than any other speed. i have full control of my vehicle and i can even look around at the countryside as i drive.
  • I think the speed on out motorways in the UK is too slow - 80/90MPH would be better than the 70 we are supposed to stick to. However, I think outside schools it should be much lower when the children are going in and coming out, and residential areas could do with a little lower too.
  • They are about right. When the price of gas was over $4.00 it didn't seem to slow anyone down. I don't think many Americans know how to drive for mileage.
  • I'd say about even. I like to drive fast, but there are idiots who can't handle the responsibility. So, we all suffer.
