  • id be very pissed off and i would complain to whoever i could
  • I would be incensed!!! I would be the squeakiest wheel they EVER HAD there. I would not shut up until someone in upper management told me that nurse would be fired, fired, FIRED. Fucking pathetic.
  • I'd tell the nurse that NO, it can not wait until later, they need to go NOW!!!
  • I would tell you that if your parent is being mistreated in this way, they are probably being mistreted in other ways as well. I would complian nicely the first time and keep a record of other times. I would keep complaining till something changes. If the staff dosen't want to do their job, they should be fired.
  • I would ask the nurse to please take them to the bathroom. We've got my husband's mother in a home right now and we know very well that going to the bathroom is something that can't wait. But I do know that there are a few older people that always ask to go whether they need to or not, it's like they forget what it feels like so they always feel they need to go. But when you know your relative well, you can honestly say whether it can wait or not. And if I would get the feeling that that happens a lot, I would talk to the supervising nurse and make sure that she was on a bathroom schedule and I'd check with surprise visits to see that they are keeping to it. We did just that when they decided it was easier to let her pee in a diaper, something that was abhorrent to her and filled her with shame since she was fully capable of knowing and speaking up about her needs. We changed homes three times before finding one that would respect our wishes and give her good care. What a nightmare that was!
  • None my mom worked in nursing home why do you think they made the big folk diapers and if you are there you should help they have on average 1 LVN,LPN dont remember which per like 10 patients so now you are taking the care from the other patients. Because what if that nurse whatever kind of nurse walks away to help use bathroom and patient has some kind of heart attack or something? I use to visit the nursing home all the time most of them just want attention or cranky but they are some cool peeps and some of them enjoy it when you go there say like a old war vet and he would like to play chess or checkers watch it tho they get plenty of time to practice and are ruthless.
  • Older people in nursing homes are often incontenant and cannot hold it. If nurse did that to my parent I am afraid that nurse would have about 3 seconds to change their mind take the parnent to the bathroom then I would take the nurse to the office or head nurse and let them know that nurse was to never be around my parent again and that had better never happen again! I would be more than angry! My next thoughts would be having a court date with the nursing home and the nurse.
  • I would be very angry because they wouldn't ask unless they really had to go to the toilet. If they had to wait they might have an accident which would be very embarrassing and not their fault.
  • I would be very angry, report it to the manager, notify the state review board, and immediately start looking for a different home.
  • i would say, 'no, she/he asked to use the restroom. we are paying YOU to take care of HER.'. then i would talk to the superviser
