For those who are saving for marriage: are you just refraining from intercourse or other forms of sex, or are you completely refraining from any sexual urges or expressions (cuddling, making out etc.) before marriage?

You can't refrain from sexual urges or thoughts, they are natural. You can refrain from sexual acts though.

A lot of people save sex for after marriage because of religion: in the catholic religion, you aren't to have sex until you are married and are willing to have children.

I am still techinically a virgin (no intercourse). I would not have even kissed my boyfriend if I had not been willing to commit for life. He tried to leave because he thought it would be best for both of us, and became quite miserable for about 3 months. (Not sleeping, not eating, throwing things). Although we are committed, I am not having intercourse because we both know that once we cross that bridge we have no choice but to get married. I love him too much to make him marry me out of obligation. Our relationship is not perfect, but we are working out some kinks. I do not need a new boyfriend when he is such a treasure.

These days, it is widely accepted that people can do everything under the sun sexually EXCEPT vaginal penetration and still be considered a virgin (of course, they lose some of their innocence). With that in mind, I strongly doubt a single person in this country over the age of 13 who are "technical virgins" can still be considered as having FULL innocence however; all the girls these days seem to have previous experience with oral and anal sex by the time they get out of high school.
