Explain briefly how :
(i) The small intestine is adapted to perform its role efficiently;
(ii) The small intestine is protected from self-digestion.

    (ii) When the food, now called chyme, enters the small intestine the pancreas produces pancreatic juices whihc neutralize the acidity coming from the stomach , therefore the small intestine lining is not in the risk of corroding.

    1 the small intetines are long and have vill covering it entire surface and each one absorbs nutrents also it use bile to break don food phisicaly and not chemical 2 when food now called chyme enters the intestines the pancreus produces pancreatic juice which nutralizes the hydrcloric acid that comes in with the chyme
