How often do you do your computer maintenance?

AVG free scans every night - no choice in the matter when it's the free version - I do get annoyed with it tho, and lately turn it off altogether. Just another reason to get broadband I suppose. Am looking at free alternatives to AVG, was going to download one last week BUT it was over 25 MB .... just too much to contemplate on dialup! Defrag when I remember - weekly to ftntly. Zone Alarm runs 24/7. CCleaner every day or so. Havent run spyware software for ages .. I'm just too impatient, but I know my computer is clean!

Each day,usually dump cookies, temp files,history etc Have AVG running daily for a virus check ,and remove what shows up then with CCleaner. Derag is set to run auto I forget when.Was looking the other day too but all I remember was that it ran the day before I looked it up and had a regular run so perhaps I should be more on the ball. What do you think ?

I run a virus scan once a week, and once a year I have a friend come in and fix anything I might have messed up.
