  • I stick to classic rock and some blues.I do not understand, nor have much interest in current music trends.
  • I'd like to... I think there are wonderfully talented young people in each generation. Sometimes I hear something at the gym or coming out of another car stopped at the light that sounds interesting. But basically, I lost touch with pop music around 1983 I think! Before then, I was on-and-off a pro keyboard player and had to keep up just as a matter of employment, and of course I loved the music too. But now it seems I just don't make the time to stay current. I've picked up a few favorite artists in 20 years, but a frightening amount of my CD collection is still 60's and 70's stuff.
  • If it makes it into a movie or tv soundtrack, I try to check out the artist and do hear some pleasant stuff. However, the music of my formative years is not just good music, it is good memories.
  • Well, I'm 40+ and I listen to, AudioSlave, Breaking Benjamins, Disturbed, Tool, A Perfect Circle, etc. Not exactly sure how current that is considered, but I like them.
  • I guess I am a tail-end of the boom, baby-boomer and yes, I keep up on my own terms. Lately I really like Jenny Owen Youngs, Bloc Party, The Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips, Of Montreal and for some damned reason Lady Sovereign. My tastes are very broad. I roam freely between the Clash and Hank Wiliams Senior. The Fall to The Freestylers. Punk, acid, house, classic rawk, jazz, soul, blues, hip-hop, trip-hop, alternative and things that defy category. My BF is more staid and has to be led to new things but will adopt them over time if they are of high quality. Right now I am listening to Northern Irish DJ, David Holmes but the album before this was Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The moon. Music is everything.
  • My grandmother's 72 and a few months ago, I wanted to see her reaction when she was listening to Trivium, and she started screaming just like Matt Heafy. She doesn't really like the modern music, she likes Frank Sinatra, Andrea Boccelli, the old italian music. It was the surprise of my life, my grandmother told me she liked it a little.
  • Not really. I pretty much like to listen to Vivaldi and also piles of easy listening CD's that I recorded off cable once and have now put into my hard drive and listen to over my external speakers. I also have an extensive collection of Irish music which I listen to when driving or while at home when I want something fun to listen to. I also like B J Thomas, James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot.
  • no,i don't but my generation music is not better than todays'.it's relative in many ways.
  • Yes, but found only one really new sound in a good number of years. The artist is King Tobaccoville. The music is a blend of rock... country... blues... jazz and other... hard to describe.
  • Retro, I still listen to the oldies station on the radio from the 60-80's. I really like the Motown and Disco ear. I don't think it is a generation gap for me....I just think with the advent of rap and heavy metal, music took a dive.
