  • No, there are definitely circumstances in which capital punishment is right. I think capital punishment is only appropriate when there is conclusive DNA-standard evidence of guilt.
  • Yes, effectively a genuine irrevocable life sentence has the same effect, it stops the individual from causing more harm in society. The extinguishing of life is a terrible irreversible thing and I don't think anyone or any institution should have to power to kill someone they've already detained successfully. Then again I go back and forth.
