  • No, if they can get peace from their pain, I see nothing wrong with it.
  • Not in my opinion. If it's the one thing that works for them.
  • Absolutely not! If there is nothing better, take it. My mother used marijuana for pain and nausea when she was dying of cancer and it worked very effectively for her.
  • No it's not wrong, in my opinion. If it relieves their suffering then all the more power to them.
  • I personally believe that smoking weed is wrong, but i am no expert. I personally believe that medical marijuana is a ploy by pot smokers to legitimize smoking of the weed. I am also not certain of it's possibilities, so until i get educated, i am not going to voice an opinion.
  • No it isn't wrong. :)
  • I am sure there are many other ways for pain relief !!!
  • If they are in that much pain why don't they see a doctor? Taking marijuana just helps to mask the problem and isn't really fixing the cause...unless they see a doctor and have been told that the cause of the pain cannot be fixed. As to whether it is wrong I really could not say but I have had periods in my life where I have been in a lot of pain at one point the pain was so bad I wanted to die and taking marijuana was not an option that I wanted to take, however, we all have choices before us and if an elderly person makes the choice to take a drug to help them with pain and it appears to be working then good for them.
  • Of course not. They should just legalize it anyway and stop making criminals out of kids whose only crime is being young anyway.
  • not at all if it helps pain then why not? they have earned the right to smoke a little weed at their ripe old age. ;D
  • Not at all! I am 60 and do from time to time. Better than th morphine pills I was on regularly! they were killing my kidneys!
  • Smoking Marijuana for pain relief is just an excuse to stick to the sick habit.Aren't there any other ways to get relieved from it?In this world where the vail of Ignorace overwhelming ,there's no hope to expect any betterment. People are gonna do what people are gonna do.And I wonder how, people take this for granted and neglect obvious things in life? Once a smoker always a smoker. In young days they do it as they think it's cool and in Old age it's an excuse of pain relief. .. If you differ you can downrate and if you wanna a debate, they proceed at your own risk.
  • Better options can be found.
  • I personally don't use it, but I think it should be legal for everyone. It would reduce the cost and reduce related crime. Just my opinion. To answer your question, definitely for pain relief.
  • Not at all I don't think.... It is legal here with a RX
  • No they should not, for a start it sends out wrong messages to the younger generations. It also numbs the brain, and its against the law.
  • Not in the least bit wrong.
  • I don't think it is wrong for anyone to use marijuana for pain relief, providing it is with a doctor's consent and under his/her supervision! :) Happy Tuesday! :)
  • I don't think so, a herb is better on the body than prescription medication ;0)
  • No not at all, I Just hope they arent driving too. Most old folks have a hard enough time behind the wheen without adding weed into the equation.
  • it's perfectly right as long as 30 years old is considered old!
  • no, medical marijuana is ok. actually, mj should be legalized and taxed as tobacco. get rid of tobacco.
  • Good, if in control. Not over dose
  • An old friend of mine had Osteoporosis. He was in constant pain. He had all the drugs from the Doc and they were totally ruining his liver and other organs. I got him some pot and that was the best thing for him.
  • Not in my mind. You wouldn't have to be elderly for me to feel differently. If it takes away the pain, it's medicine.
  • It should never be wrong to self-medicate when the drug in question has a manageable capacity for addiction. Otherwise, we're going to let Doctors run our entire lives. Cigarettes are hugely addictive and they're legal. Alcohol causes over 1,000 deaths from auto accidents every month and can become very addictive with chronic use. Pot is barely addictive. So what's the problem? Oh that's right, it's a gateway drug. Well if I could buy it from Costco instead of a dealer, that wouldn't be that case, now would it?
  • It's not wrong for ANYONE to consume Marijuana for pain, no matter what their age. It's not wrong for anyone over the age of 18 to consume marijuana for any reason unless, like me, they're allergic. Sometimes it sucks to be me.
  • I don't think so.
  • No of course not.
  • i dont think so, then again i dont think its wrong to "consume" it for pleasure
  • its never wrong to smoke a dubbie
  • Not wrong at all.
  • No it isnt. It's probably a lot better than some of the crap they get dosed up on currently.
  • Your welcome CT.: )
  • Not at all! However, smoking it isn't too good for your lungs so it'd probably be better to either use a vaporizer or find a way to cook it.
  • is it wrong to take asprin for a headache
  • Only if they are tied up and someone is blowing smoke down their throat against their will.
  • I don't think it is wrong for ANYONE to consume Marijuana. Period. It's a plant, it should be a person's personal decision, not the government. In Canada it is legal (within certain conditions).
  • No. My neighbour (60's) and my uncle (70's) smoke marijuana. I haven't asked them if it's for pain relief but I figure being senior and responsible citizens they have the right to enjoy it as they please.... whether for pain relief or just for pleasure.
